Launch of report: ‘Supporting Ukrainians in Ireland: A Preliminary Analysis’.

On Wednesday, 30 September 2026, we officially launched the report ‘Supporting Ukrainians in Ireland: A Preliminary Analysis’.

Since March 2022, communities across Ireland have mobilised to support Ukrainians arriving in Ireland following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Based on interviews with more than 50 people, this preliminary report by Dr Nataliia Boiko and Professor Mary Gilmartin (Maynooth University) explores the experiences of both those who provided support and those who received it. It examines the challenges they encountered, how individuals and communities responded, and the lessons that can be drawn from these experiences to help foster stronger social cohesion in Ireland.
