MobiliseCare team presented at the Migration, Place/making and Belonging Conference in University College Cork (UCC). The presentation took place within the Community Response, Exclusion and Resilience Panel on Friday 6 June 2025 and was titled: MobiliseCare: Creating a Migration “care-tography”: Co-writing Through Collage.

The team introduced MobiliseCare project to the audience and talked through the collage method, used for highlighting the three emerging themes of the project: Care; Migration as Crisis and Connection & Solidarity. The team chose to work visually and manually in a one day-long workshop prior to the conference, using collage as a method of thinking together and writing together in a non-linear and creative way.

First, the team members each wrote a key question on a small piece of paper, and three themes to explore. With the proposed questions and themes laid out, the team moved them around and made connections between them with pieces of wool, until the three main themes emerged. The emergent question to connect the various proposed questions was “how can we tell new stories about migration?”.

Throughout one day, the team worked together through each of these three themes through a series of collages and reflections, exploring at the end of the day how they spoke to the overarching question.
