Mary Gilmartin attended the Nordic Geographers Meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 22-25 June 2026, on behalf of the MobiliseCare team. Mary gave a presentation on ‘Solidarity and Care’ (co-authored with Zoe O’Reilly) in a session on ‘Geographies of solidarity and geographers in solidarity I’, organised by Zinaïda Sluijs from Uppsala University in Sweden. Mary also was an invited panelist on a session co-organised by Lawrence Berg (UBC, Canada) and Edward Huibens (Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands). The session was titled “Academic Knowledge Production and the Falling Rate of Use Values: Rethinking Academia in the context of Planetary Crises”.
